Services are charged on a sliding scale based on income.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The program is delivered through a partnership between South Vancouver Neighbourhood House (SVNH) and Progressive Intercultural Community Services Society (PICSS) and is funded by the B.C. government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<h4>Eligibility<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are an older adult (65+) living in the South Vancouver Community, you may be eligible to access services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<h4>Area of Service<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Vancouver South Better at Home boundaries: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>South of East 41st Avenue<\/li><li>North of the Fraser River<\/li><li>East of Ontario Street<\/li><li>West of Boundary<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n\n\n<h4><strong>Light Yard Work<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Light yard work services provided in partnership with Burnaby Association for Community Inclusion (BACI). Services include lawn mowing and yard clean up. Equipment must be provided by the client. Sliding scale fees apply, some services may be free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4><strong>Light Housekeeping<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Assistance with lawn mowing, yard clean up, and raking leaves by youth trained in light yard work. Equipment and tools must be provided.\u202f Sliding scale fees apply, some services may be free. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Housekeeping services may include but<\/strong> <strong>are not limited to:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Dusting <\/li><li>Floor Cleaning <\/li><li>Vacuuming <\/li><li>Laundry and Bed Making <\/li><li>Washroom Cleaning <\/li><li>Dishwashing <\/li><li>Kitchen Cleaning (no internal appliances) <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Housekeeping services does NOT provide:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Personal hygiene assistance (bathing or grooming) <\/li><li>Medical or physical assistance (including medication) <\/li><li>Meal preparation and\/or pet care <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Housekeeping services are provided through Progressive Intercultural Community Services Society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4><strong>Transportation<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Safe affordable transportation for seniors 65+ living in South East Vancouver.&nbsp;Priority will be given to older adults with mobility challenges that affect their ability to undertake day-to-day tasks. Services will be charged on a sliding scale based on income, some services may be free.&nbsp;Registration is required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4><strong>Friendly Phone Calls<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Friendly visits are provided through phone calls and virtually to help overcome the challenges of independent living and provide companionship.&nbsp;Visits help you feel connected to community and meet new people.&nbsp;&nbsp;Provided&nbsp;by volunteers who receive training.
