The Association provides small project funding, materials, training, support people and maintains a website to assist Community Response Networks in their work. As well, provincial teleconferences are held on a monthly basis with all CRN members and interested parties invited to join the conversation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the local level, CRNs facilitate prevention and education activities with local stakeholders toward an end to abuse, neglect and self-neglect of vulnerable adults in British Columbia. Registered under the Societies Act since 1981, COSCO has grown and now represents approximately 80,000 seniors in British Columbia.<br>COSCO is run by volunteers, with activities coordinated through an elected Board of Directors. Their mandate is to promote the well-being of seniors and their families, advocating for policies that allow seniors to remain active, independent, and fully engaged in the life of our province. Our mission is to address housing affordability and social isolation by bringing compatible people together to share homes through companion housing. Happipad operates Canada\u2019s largest companion housing program and is a leader in developing innovations to support and expand companion housing opportunities. They currently have more than 40 workshops available for presentation by trained facilitators. Their workshops are developed by consulting with experts in their fields to ensure all information is up-to-date and accurate. These sessions which provide practical information but are not intended to provide specific legal, medical or financial advice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Where possible, they offer workshops for non-English speaking seniors. Anyone who holds a Killarney Community Centre membership card and is 55+ years of age can be a member of the Seniors Association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Killarney Community Centre is located near Kerr St and East 49th Ave &#8211; it has activities and services for all ages.&nbsp; WE offer licensed pre-school and childcare, seniors centre, concessions, billiards area, full sized gymnasium, dance studio, swimming pool with a steam room and whirlpool, ice rink and fitness centre.&nbsp; Outside, there are tennis courts and a playground at nearby Killarney Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Killarney Community Centre offers a myriad of programs ranging from Tai Chi, monthly multicultural luncheons and art clubs. There are also culturally specific programs available such as the Indo Canadian Men &amp; Women\u2019s group and Mandarin Seniors Speaking Club. The Centre is proud to provide services in a variety of languages including Mandarin, Cantonese, Punjabi, and English.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Killarney Seniors Centre provides southeast Vancouver\u2019s growing senior population with opportunities for socializing, healthy meals, and physical activity, which play a key role in keeping seniors healthy and independent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Funding for the $7.5 million centre came from the Government of Canada, Government of British Columbia, and City of Vancouver. The Vancouver Park Board provided the land.
